Sympathies for Moms

As any dude who's wife (or girlfriend) has given birth knows, women have it pretty tough. Without going into detail, I have to say that I am sure glad that as a guy I don't have to carry the baby, give birth to the baby, and then feed the baby. I have had the easy part, which is just listening to the complaints (well-grounded) of the one who has to perform the aforementioned acts.

So I suppose the point of this post is, to simply say thank you to the wonderful women out there who carry such a burden for their families. Even though we get a little frustrated sometimes, we men really do appreciate it.

Also to the men who don't have kids yet, heads up! Grow some thick skin and forget about all the things you used to do in your spare time. My advice is to leave your wife once you find out she's pregnant. Just kidding about that last line, that was to see if you were really paying attention, and also to generate comments :)

In all seriousness, I love my wife and my son, and it is all worth it. It really isn't that bad, because Vanessa is really cool and makes it pretty easy on me. She gives me chores to do, but they are mostly only the things which she can't do for herself and needs help. She is very reasonable and I love her for that. Thanks Honey!

As for babies, they poop and pee a lot, and it is very foul... Also that first poop after they're born is literally like tar. It is jet black and super sticky. I don't know why, but I think it has something to do with their intestines pumping out the junk that accumulated during gestation. Maybe Basics With baby will do a post explaining this better.

Good luck to all.

Vanessa's yellow dog is currently barking his head off, for a seemingly non-existent reason.

To all Loyal Readers...

Hello to all loyal readers out there, who I don't really know exist, but I suspect that you may exist. Anyhoo, here is what is going on currently:

1. I am really tired. It is relatively late, but I can't bring myself to go to bed because the new carpet in the house is extremely attractive, and the thought of not being able to sit here and look at it is more than my poor soul can handle.

2. Vanessa bought some Walmart brand Scentsy candles which are pretty awesome, and are filling the house with delicious aromas.

That is all I can manage to write now, but I will try and update occasionally. Peace out

Alarm is Being Sounded!!!

The alarm is being sounded, consider yourself warned. Don't hold cash! Hold an asset which appreciates independently of cash, such as gold or real estate. Huge inflation is on the way. If you don't believe me, watch this video. There is no way we can print this much money and not experience raging amounts of inflation.

Sister of the Year

Today was a long day of working on the house. We are trying to get it fixed up so we can sell it, and we are making good progress. Unfortunately however, we are not yet finished. We still have to carpet one of the bedrooms, finish the tile in the laundry room, put in the counter tops, put up transition strips and quarter round, and stain and replace the cabinets in the kitchen. There is actually more as well, but I can't think of it right now. It is going to be a lot of work, but thanks to one amazing sister, it is going much quicker. Muffin and Husky, in cooperation with Life in the Tangled Mass of Tropical Vegetation, would like to officially nominate Bells for "Sister of the Year," and "Sister in Law of the Year" awards simultaneously.

Ignoring the Founding Fathers

Earlier today I read a post that someone had made, in which they stated that they were reading a book about politics. This person also stated that prior to reading the book she thought she was a "moderate" but now realizes she is "left of the left." A response to that post was from one of her friends, which stated that she "was a moderate," but that "the right keeps pushing more and more right and it's moving the center."

Reading this gave me a very sick feeling. Knowing that there are those out there who may feel this way is deeply troubling to me. I wish they would read the statements and literature produced by the Founding Fathers of this great nation. If they would do this, they would see that it is not the right who has changed, but the left. The Founding Fathers believed in freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. They believed in low taxes, property ownership, and the right to bear arms.

This country was founded on Conservative principles. The people of the time had lived under oppressive government, in which the government controlled every facet of their lives. They hated that life and yearned for freedom and liberty.

A good place to start for any seeking to understand the wisdom of the Founding Fathers, is Thomas Paine's Common Sense pamphlet which was published and distributed in 1776. You can find it here:

It is the so called "progressives" which have radically drifted away from the center, not the other way around.
